You Can Change

Seasons change. You can change too.

Sometimes we get involved in things that are right at the time, but aren't meant to be forever.

Sometimes we get involved in things we have no business getting involved in to begin with and they're never going to work out right.

Sometimes we just change our minds as we get older, which is okay too.

There are covenant circumstances where change isn't advisable. This post is not about those things. I'm writing today about changing things like jobs, churches, schools, friend groups, where you live, and what you do for fun. I'm writing about changing from something that isn't working any longer to something that feels scary and uncertain.

Maybe you think God is telling you that it's time for a big change. Maybe you've been burying your talent in the ground in an effort to be humble or out of fear of success. The thing is, you're commanded by God not to bury your talents in the ground. You're responsible to God and what He thinks; not anyone else. Go where God sends you, whether you understand it or not. He'll provide in the place He directs. (Matthew 25)

Changing may feel like God is asking you to step off a cliff with no safety net. In these times, God asks us to trust Him to be our safety net. Every single time I've felt like that, He was right there - not only catch me, but to also take me higher to a place I couldn't see from where I was.

Although change can seem overwhelming and frightening, it can be the best thing for you.

Be brave. Be bold. Life is too short to live afraid to change.

Jesus is coming back soon and it's time to shake the world up from their numbed-out, screen-obsessed slumber to bring as many people into The Kingdom with us as we possibly can.

I Peter 4:7 says, "The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray."

What in your life needs to change? I've recently made huge changes to my life to grow up and stop living in a distracted way - things like getting grounded in the literal dirt by gardening. I've drastically changed the way I spend money. I've changed the way I take care of myself and my family. I've changed... well, you can sign up for my weekly email newsletter and read more details. It's on-going, and it's been fantastic. Put your email address in that blue box that keeps popping up.

You can change too.
